Promoting a stronger ethical investment policy in the Christian Churches

Who Are We?

CEIG was originally formed in 1988 to promote a stronger ethical investment policy within the Church of England. To many outside, the Churches appear to divorce their prophetic witness from the handling of substantial investments by the Church Commissioners and others.

The Group, which is now ecumenical, is committed to promoting debate and the development of vigorous ethical investment policies within all Christian Churches.

While CEIG does not take a specific line on particular investment issues, it is committed to promoting key issues of ethical investment concern. We describe this as promoting 'the oxygen of debate' and reminding ourselves that 'ethical complexity is no excuse for ethical complacency'.
